Kiel/Hamburg, 08.09.2022 - For the fifth time in a row, the Hamburg-based personnel consultancy PALTRON is sponsoring the Golf Charity Tournament of the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), which is taking place today near Kiel. Under the motto "Do good!", the Friends and Sponsors Association of UKSH is collecting donations during the event to support the children's emergency rooms at the Kiel and Lübeck sites.

The event will be held for the twelfth time in 2022. Since 2011, approximately 150 golfers, friends and supporters of UKSH as well as numerous guests from regional business, politics and the health care sector have gathered annually at the Hohwacht Golf Course for the Golf Charity Tournament. The game is played in the so-called Chapman foursome in teams of two.

Golfing for children's emergency admissions

In addition to the sport, the focus is on the good cause. Within the framework of the events of the ten previous years, a total of 243,000 Euros were collected for the benefit of the UKSH day-care centres for children. Thus, with the help of the donations generated, the KITAS at the Kiel and Lübeck campuses could be expanded from around 190 places to a total of 425 places.

PALTRON founder Josef Günthner is pleased about this success: "It is great that the childcare offer could be expanded so massively thanks to the donations. Reconciling family and work and relieving the burden on medical professionals is so important for society as a whole. All the more reason for us to look forward to the upcoming project - because surely we can make a lot of difference together here too."

This year's donations will be used to support the UKSH Children's Emergency Admissions (KINA) for the first time. The interdisciplinary KINAs at the Kiel and Lübeck sites are a central contact point for acutely and seriously ill children. The donations will be used, among other things, for an attractive, more child-friendly and innovative redesign of the premises.
